Cecil Taylor, 86, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 in Mobile, Alabama. Cecil was born in Mexia, Alabama on August 10, 1932 to Leo and Ardain Taylor. He joined the U.S. Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Boxer during the Korean Conflict. He was a faithful member of Calvary Temple Assembly of God in Saraland. Cecil enjoyed motorhoming, camping, and blue grass music.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Ardain Taylor, a brother, and first wife and mother of his children, Wanda Joyce Taylor. Cecil is survived by his wife of 31 years, Rachel Taylor; children Diana Kelly, David (Patricia) Taylor, Robin (Greg) Osborne, Sheila (Lee) Kelly, and Cecil Taylor, Jr.; step-son Ronnie McIntyre; devoted niece Darlene Taylor; brother-in-law Kirk (Burnedette) Orso; sisters-in-law Barbara Weaver, Angelyn (Ike) Reed and Theresa Weaver; 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A visitation for Mr. Taylor will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland, Alabama. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church in Saraland with Rev. Stephen Perry officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers are Scott Hall, Billy Kelly, Ronnie McIntyre, Jr., Greg Osborne, Jacob Kelly, and Jamil McIntyre.
