Charles Herbert Erwin

Born on September 22, 1935 in Ashland, Kentucky, Charles Erwin was a beloved husband of 30 years to Sharon Skinner Erwin, father to Suzanne Skinner Blackwell (Greg) and the late James Skinner (Suzanne), granddad to Anna Grace Skinner, Molly Skinner, Noah Blackwell, Eli Blackwell, Isaac Blackwell, and Lorelai Blackwell. Charles is survived by not only his wife, daughter and grandchildren but by his brothers William Abe Erwin (the late Patricia Erwin), Robert Thomas Erwin, Jr. (Patricia), sister Mary Ellen White (Bob), and is Uncle “Chub” to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Robert Thomas Erwin and Hilda Marie Barber Erwin, his late wife Shirley Dixon Erwin, brother Howard Roy Erwin (Virginia), his son James Skinner (Suzanne) and grandson, Gavin Skinner.

Charles Erwin received his BS in Commerce from the University of Kentucky and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Louisville. He practiced law in Mobile for over 50 years. He was a member of The Shriners as well as multiple civic organizations.

A family visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 9th at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland, Alabama followed by a public graveside service at 11 a.m. at Mauvilla Cemetery on Kali Oka Rd.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Shriners Hospital for Children in memory of Charles Herbert Erwin.
