Christian M. Casallo – a 47 year-old native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and longtime resident of Mobile, AL passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021. Christian was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he held the rank of Lance Corporal. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of South Alabama in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Christian’s most recent employment was as a representative with the State of Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs where he assisted veterans with employment placement.
Christian was a faithful believer of Christ and an active member of The Grove Community Church. He had a zest for life and a love of adventure, enjoying activities such as kayaking, biking, running, and hiking. Christian was passionate about Jujitsu and was able to recently obtain a blue belt. He was always “game” for philosophical banter where he could exercise his intellect.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Cristine Casallo. Christian is survived by his father, Alberto Casallo; siblings, Maria Collard (Timothy), Michael Casallo (Paula), Joanna Casallo, and Elena Casallo; nieces and nephews, Jacqueline Graw, Christina Kokojan (Ben), Tristan Collard (Sky), Nate Casallo, Mackenzie Casallo, Courtnee Casallo, Jasmine Casallo, Kolbie Williams, and Alexis Smallwood; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held from the Saraland First Assembly of God on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at 12 noon. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will follow in the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
