

Clarence H. Wagner – A native of Point Clear, AL and resident of Creola, AL died Wednesday, May 10, 2011 in a local hospital. Mr. Wagner was a longtime member of Creola United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during WWII. He served in the Battle of the Bulge and the Battle of Berlin. Mr. Wagner retired with Courtaulds Fibers in Le Moyne, AL after 33 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Madeline Wagner; son, Terry Wagner; and sister, Adella Wagner. Survivors include his wife, Irene Wagner; two children, Danny Wagner and Shelby (Stump) Hammontree; one brother, Claude (Ruth) Wagner; two grandchildren, Travis Willard and Meme (C.J.) Paul; and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 13, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be in Creola Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Creola United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 233, Creola, AL 36525. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Springhill Medical Center, 3rd floor, especially to Rick, Nettie and Robyn.
