Edith Cavell Guillot

On Saturday, October 9, 2021, Edith Guillot passed away at age 105. She was born on January 30, 1916 in Pierre Part, LA to Addison and Augustine (Metrejean) Knotts. On October 9, 1940 she married Gerald Guillot of Plattenville, LA which lasted 74 years until his death in 2015. They soon settled in Chickasaw, AL where they raised their three children; Gerald (Elizabeth), Robert (Gayle) and Deborah (John Chase).

She was the last founding member of St Thomas Catholic Church and school which all three children attended. Edith was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She especially liked to prepare large meals for her family. She is survived by her three children, 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Chickasaw on Thursday, October 14, 2021. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. with the rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Catholic Cemetery.
