Eleanor Powell Hicks- a 72 year-old longtime resident of mobile and current resident of Stockton, AL passed away Monday, October 28, 2013. She retired from the University South Alabama School of Medicine after 25 years of service. Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her parents, John Lee Powell and Maude Lee Sellers Powell; brother, Q.R. Powell; and sister, Agnes Austin. Mrs. Hicks is survived by her husband of 51 years, William "Bill" Hicks; daughter, Karen Hicks Aikin; her beloved granddaughter, Abigail Kennedy Aikin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Friday, November 1, 2013, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the service hour.
