Gaines "Billy" William Phillips

Billy left this world peacefully on Sunday afternoon, September 30, 2018 and was surrounded by his family. He was 72 years old. Billy is preceded in death by his father and mother, Charles and Clara Phillips along with his sister, Charlotte Lane. He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Myra along with their three children: Paul (Nina) Phillips, Elizabeth Phillips, and Christy (Tommy) Anderson. Billy has seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind one brother, Jerry (Judy) Phillips, one sister, Flora (Ken) Tuggle, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Billy was co-owner of Phillips Feed Company and a farmer all of his life. He loved cattle, horses, team roping, and baling hay. Billy was a member of the last graduating class of Semmes High School in 1965. Gaines William Phillips was loved widely and immensely and he will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church Satsuma on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the church on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Wolfridge Cemetery.
