George Jackson Stanley, age 94, was born October 5, 1926, in Silas, Alabama to the late Helton and Ethel McIlwain Stanley and was called to his Heavenly home on August 28, 2021 in Mobile, Alabama. George was a longtime member of Saraland Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He always enjoyed spending time with his family, church family and friends. George was a member of Toulmanville Hunting Club for over fifty years. He was retired from Courtaulds following thirty-eight years of dedicated employment. George will be greatly missed and remembered for his gentle spirit.
George was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of seventy-six years; Louise B. Stanley, three siblings: Joseph "Red" Stanley, Mack Stanley, Audrey Stanley Morris; two sons: Timmy A. Stanley, George Sherwin Stanley, one grandson; Timmy Stanley, Jr., and one granddaughter; Tammy Stanley.
Left to cherish George's wonderful memories will be one daughter; Sylvia Ann Stanley Davis and husband Connie Luvon, one sister; Catherine Taylor, nine grandchildren: Janet Dewrell and husband Gary, Janice Thomas and husband Eddie, Wendy Weaver and husband Leigh, Danny Stanley and wife Rita, Tommy Stanley and wife Patricia, Brandy Phillips and husband Mike, George Stanley, Jr. and wife Jennifer, one daughter-in-law; Jean Bentley Stanley; eighteen great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and a host of amazing friends.

A visitation will occur Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, AL 36571. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 11:00 AM, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, AL 36571. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
