

Mr. Lomax was a 1958 graduate of Vigor High School and retired from International Paper after 42 years of service. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren and attending all of their sporting events. He also enjoyed fishing and supporting the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. Mr. Lomax was a longtime member of Shadowlawn Baptist Church and currently attended College Park Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlton Lanier Lomax and Barbara Wiggins Lomax; sister, Julie Jemison; and brother, Douglas Lomax. Mr. Lomax is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara Pearce Lomax; daughters, Laura Lomax Gerhardt (Wes) and Leslie Lomax Hillis (Joshua); his beloved grandchildren, Anna Gerhardt, Trey Gerhardt, Kendyl Stroud, Andrew Hillis, and Audrey Hillis; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the service hour. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to College Park Baptist Church, 5860 College Pkwy., Eight Mile, AL 36613, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
