
Grace Cobb Brown, age 97, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 3. A native of Gordon, Georgia, she moved to Mobile in 1941. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward O’Neil Brown, her parents, William D. and Mattie D. Cobb, and her seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her two children, both of Mobile: daughter, Glenda Grace Lynn Brown, who had been her caregiver for the past five years, and her son, David Neil Brown (Peggy). She had three grandsons, John Neil Baker, Neil David Brown, and Scott Thomas Brown and a great-granddaughter, Carson Grace Brown, and numerous other relatives and friends. She had been a member of Wilson Avenue Baptist Church since 1955. She worked at Brookley Field and later as a professional seamstress. She was active in TLC Ministries, which provides clothes for children in the Appalachians. She adored her family and found great joy in creating a loving and Christ-centered home for them.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 7 in the chapel at the Radney Funeral Home in Saraland, Alabama, at 2 o’clock with visitation at 1 o’clock. Rev. George Williams, Senior Pastor at Wilson Avenue Baptist Church, Saraland, will conduct the service, with Rev. Ed Keys of Luke 4:18 Fellowship, Mobile, and Mrs. Connie Easterling of First Baptist Church of Mobile, providing the music. Rev. Mike Bedford of College Park Baptist Church, Saraland, will offer the closing prayer. Mrs. Brown will be laid to rest at Pine Crest Cemetery next to her husband in Mobile.
