Mrs. Gussie Geraldine Harrell, a native of Grove Hill, AL. and a resident of Chickasaw for the past 69 years, died on Saturday, August 3, 2013. Mrs. Harrell was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Chickasaw, where she served on the WMU and the Sunday School Program. In the 1960’s she had been the sportswear manager for Raphael’s Clothing Store. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Harrell, three brothers and one sister. Mrs. Harrell is survived by three children, Elizabeth Lear Collins, Jimmy (Tina) Harrell and Jackie (Tommy) Harrell Chavis; one sister, Jeanette Harris Bufkin; three grandchildren, Clyde (Krista) Collins, III, Terri Chavis (Ken) MCormick and Jamie Harrell (Jarrett) Shaw; three great grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at 10 AM. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 PM. Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. The family request that in lieu of flowers that Memorials may be made to the Billy Graham Ministries, in her honor.
