Jack N. Parnell – A native of Whistler, AL and longtime resident of Saraland, AL passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 at William F. Green Veterans Home where he has been residing for the past three years. Mr. Parnell retired from the GM&O/ICG Railroad with over thirty years of service. He was a U.S. veteran who served in the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mable Parnell; and son, Richard Welch. Survivors include his son, Timothy (Cindy) Parnell; two daughters, Tammie Parnell (Brian) Jemison and Luci (Bobby) Pilgrim; two brothers, Bennie and Alan Parnell; two sisters, Ruby Webb and Sadie Hutto; four grandsons, Travis, Andrew, Eric and Eddie; three granddaughters, Amanda, Jessica and Zoe; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 12 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of the G-Wing at William F. Green Veterans Home and to Covenant Hospice.
