Jackie Ray Hays Sr.

Jackie Ray Hays, Sr. - 87, of Saraland, Alabama, passed away on October 1, 2023, in his home. He was born on June 13, 1936 in Andalusia, Alabama. Jackie , known to his loved ones as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, will be deeply missed.

Jackie dedicated 42 years of his life to his career at International Paper. His hard work and commitment made a lasting impact on the company and his colleagues.

Outside of work, Jackie had a passion for restoring antique vehicles and fixing things. He found joy in bringing new life to old treasures and was admired for his craftsmanship.

Jackie is survived by his loving wife, Susanna Hays, and their children: Jackie Hays, Jr., Jeffery Hays (Elizabeth), Jason Hays, Joel Hays, Fayette Corlett, III, Paige Howell, and Stephanie Perkins (Louis). He also leaves behind his sister, June, seventeen grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elma Hays, father, Grady Hays, two brothers, three sisters, a granddaughter, and a grandson.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Jackie at his home, 124 McCormick Lane, Saraland, Alabama 36571, on Saturday, October 14th, for his family and friends from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Condolences may be offered at www.radneyfuneralhome-saraland.com.
