James “Jim” Elliott – an 83 year-old native of Mobile and resident of Chickasaw died peacefully with his wife and love of his life, Nancy Elliott, on Monday, December 19, 2022. Mr. Elliott retired from International Paper Company after 42 years of service. An exceptional handy man, in his retirement, Mr. Elliott managed and maintained his rental properties with his wife, Nancy. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by his parents, Greeley Elliott and Ella Mae Richerson Elliott, and son, Christopher Brooks Elliott. He is survived by his daughter, Kara Boutwell (Denton); grandchildren, Ian Elliott Cummings, Brooks Boutwell, Nathan Boutwell, Taylor Steiner, Sophia Elliott, and Samuel Elliott; great-grandchildren, Noah Steiner and Ezra Steiner; nephew, Richard Sutton; niece, Linda Dixon; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held from Chickasaw United Methodist Church on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 12 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 36607, or Chickasaw United Methodist Church, 108 Lee St., Chickasaw, AL 36611.
