

James Luker, age 90, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, in Satsuma, Alabama. Born in Marengo County, Alabama to Johnny and Leafy Gertrude Flowers Luker, He lived a full and faithful life rooted in love, service, and devotion to both his family and his community.
A longtime and devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church, James lived by the values of his faith. He served the State of Alabama Highway Department for 32 years, where he worked with dedication and pride as the Chief Asphalt Inspector.
While serving in the U.S. Army, James met the love of his life, Mary Ann Atkinson, through her brother. That meeting led to 66 beautiful years of marriage—a union built on deep love, mutual respect, and shared joy.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Sonya Bryant (Steve) and Angela Patteson; grandchildren Kyle (Hayley), Kevin, Aiya, and Ryan; and great-grandchildren Jude and Chloe. James will be remembered as a steadfast father, proud grandfather, and a man of integrity who lived a life well-loved and well-lived.
A visitation will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Parkway, Saraland, Alabama 36571, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 10000 Celeste Rd, Saraland, Alabama 36671. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church Missions Fund.
