
James Thomas Pickett – an 87 year-old native of Hawthorn, AL and resident of Satsuma passed away Saturday, May 7, 2011. He retired from the Boilermaker’s Union Local #112 after many years of service. Mr. Pickett was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy, a 35 year member of the Bowen Masonic Lodge #240, and enjoyed nature and spending time outdoors. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Tolley Pickett, and sister, Iva Ruth Deas. Mr. Pickett is survived by his wife of 62 years, Imogene Pickett; children, Floyd Pickett, Irvin Pickett (Gabriella), David Pickett (Enny), Steve Pickett, Doug Pickett (Huguette), Margaret Carrell (Robin), and Andy Pickett; brother, Jack Pickett (Sylvia); 10 grandchildren, James Pickett, Mattia Pickett, Marilena Pickett, Joshua Pickett (Marie), Jeremy Pickett, Seline Pickett, Danny Pickett, Justin Carrell (Jennifer), Christin Carrell King (John), and Jonathan Carrell; eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospitals, c/o Abba Temple Shrine, 7701 Hitt Rd., Mobile, AL 36695.
