Joe C. Tew – a native of Laurel, MS and resident of Mobile, AL for the past 60 years, died at a local hospital on July 3, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlie James and Clara Knotts Tew; one brother, Elwin B. Tew; and two sisters, Joyce Tew Smith and Sheila Tew Gripp. He is survived by the mother of his children, Katherine Wilkerson Tew; two daughters, Trisha (Steve) Pendarvis and Tammy (James) Rowell; one son, Joel (Anna K.) Tew; three brothers, Timothy Paul Tew, Arlie James Tew and Sidney Douglas Tew; one sister, Sandra Tew Kennon; seven grandchildren, Stephanie, Stephen, Amanda, Joseph, Kaitlyn, James and Jackson; five great-grandchildren, Maximus, Lilly, Lil Stephen, Brodey and Allie; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, July 8, 2013, at 10 a.m. from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
