

J. C. Jackson was born in Choctaw County, AL on July 3, 1922. On Monday, January 30, 2017 J. C. , age 94, went to be with the Lord. J. C. is preceded in death by his parents, L.L. and Ola Jackson, brothers, W.C. and L.C. Jackson and sister, Inez Mosley. He is also preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Jabo Turner, Wallace Mosley, and sister-in-law, Carol Jackson. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Jackson, children; Greg (Marlene) Jackson and Pam “Pandi” (David) Bennett. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Stephen Jackson, Amy Robinson, Melissa (Tyler) Jemison, Chad (Ling) Jackson, great -grandchildren; Matthew Robinson, Sydney and Emma Jemison, brother, O. L. “Bill” Jackson, sisters; Dorothy Turner, Laverne (Ray) Lucas, Lois (Stuart) Payne and many nieces and nephews.
J. C. was a World War II veteran in the United States Army where he served as a combat medic. During his service he was the recipient of the Bronze Star, European Campaign Medal with 5 battle stars and the Purple Heart.
After the war, he moved to Mobile, where he met Mildred and married on June 20, 1952. They resided in Chickasaw where they raised their family. He retired from Alcoa Aluminum after 33 years of service, before moving to Fairhope in 1983. He was a faithful member of Loxley Church of God, where visitation will held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 on Saturday, February 11, 2017. Funeral service will be held in the church beginning at 12:00 noon. Interment with military honors will be held at Pine Crest Cemetery, Mobile, AL at 3:00 p.m. Condolences may be offered at www.radneyfuneralhome-saraland.com.
