

Joseph Harold “Jimmy” Lloyd, Sr., 86, of Saraland, passed away Friday, June 3, 2016. Joseph was born in Mobile, AL. A true patriot from birth, Jimmy served with the United States army during the Korean War, and went on to retire from the Army National Guard, for whom he served for over forty years. Jimmy had a mechanical brain, spending most of his time tinkering and engrossed in small engine repair. He was also highly involved in Saraland politics, earning him the title of Saraland’s “Citizen of the Year” in 2000. He volunteered much of his time to aiding the Meals on Wheels program, and volunteered with the Women’s Club of Saraland. Jimmy had a passion for the Lord. He was a member of Kushla Bethany Baptist church, and enjoyed Gospel music, making many trips to Branson on a tour bus for Gospel concerts. He was very loved and will be missed by all.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his first wife, Amelia Pauline Busby Lloyd, to whom he was married for over fifty years. He was also preceded in death by his son, Perry Everett; his parents; four sisters; and seven brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Baggett Lloyd; daughter, Judy (Max) Ward; son, Joseph (Audrey) Lloyd, Jr.; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
