

Mrs. June Marie Purvis Autrey was called home by her Heavenly Father on April 26, 2016. Born June 1, 1934 to Oliver Hamilton Purvis Sr. and Alma May Black, she was a resident of Chickasaw, Alabama for over forty years and a native of Mobile, Alabama. June was a 1951 graduate of Murphy High School, and later attended Providence School of Nursing where she became a Registered Nurse. She worked many years at New Orleans’ Charity Hospital, Jay Hospital in Florida, Providence Hospital, and Mobile Infirmary. While working as a nurse, she acquired so many stories which she loved to share with her family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was also a very talented artist who painted beautiful portraits of her family as well as seascapes. June was affectionately known as “Ma” by all who came to know and love her. She was preceded in death by her parents Oliver and Alma, her brothers Oliver “Buddy” Purvis, Edward “Beaman” Purvis, and sister Jewel Evelyn Heath. She is survived by her daughter Gina (Tim) Bolton of Chickasaw, her grandchildren Matthew (Annestan) Bolton of Satsuma, Julia Bolton of Chickasaw, P.F.C Austin Bolton of Fort Drum New York, and Jada Hall of Fort Myers Florida, and two great granddaughters Matalyn Bolton and Taylor Bolton of Satsuma; Also survived by three sisters Myra (Ronald) Goleman, Kellie (Christin) Martin, and Jean Purvis, two brothers Tommy Purvis and Bobby Purvis, all of Mobile, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. We the family would like to thank the nurses, therapists, and C.N.A’s and entire staff of SADDS Hospice and Home Healthcare. A special thanks to her nurses Barbara and David, along with C.N.A Carrie; thank you for your dedication and kindness during Ma’s final days. Although our hearts are breaking, we know your suffering has ended, and with that, we find peace and comfort in letting you go; for we know you are fully restored in Heaven. Please join us in a celebration of her life Wednesday, May 4th at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland at 11a.m to 12p.m for family, and 12p.m to 1:45p.m for friends with service beginning at 2p.m. Reception provided for family at Radney.
