Lelia Louise Diamond Smith

She is survived by her son, Randy (Denna) Diamond; step-daughter, Sandy Smith; step-sons, Tom (Montez) Smith and Pat (Theresa) Smith; three grandchildren, Joshua Diamond, Brandon Rose, and Jennifer (Kyle) Jackson; step-grandchildren, Amanda (Will), Heather (Joel), Sarah (RJ), Lucas (Jessy), Tracey, & Stephen; great-grandchildren, Parker and Riley Jackson; and many step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her best friend, Dot Barnes.

She was one of twelve children born to the Bush Family. She is survived by her brothers, Billy (Ruth) Bush, Joe (Kay) Bush and Wayne (Carmen) Bush; by her sisters, Rose Hutchinson, Sybil (Claud) Phelps, Cathryn Bush, Alice Toohill, and Vivian (Carl) Douglass; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Sonny Diamond; her second husband, LaVaughn Smith; daughter, Shelia Diamond; step-granddaughter, Nickie Odom; step-son, Michael Smith; brothers, Charles Bush and Hiram Bush; and sisters, Margaret Beasley and Diane Little.

She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother (Maw), great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was beautiful inside and out and loved taking care of others. She had a green thumb and could grow a fabulous garden and plants. She was a fabulous cook and her fresh vegetables, vegetable soup, tomato gravy, porcupine balls, breakfast muffins and mexican cornbread will be greatly missed.

Heaven became a sweeter place with her there. We know there was a special reunion with loved ones who have gone on before.

We sorrow, but not as those with no hope. We know we will see her again in heaven.

Graveside services and interment will be held in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens on Monday, February 20, 2023 at 12 p.m. The family will receive friends at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. prior to the service.
