Mackie Ray “Mack” James – a native of Bay Springs, MS and resident of Eight Mile, AL died Sunday, September 15, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family and friends. Mack retired from Eight Mile Auto Sales after 26 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evangeline Colburn James; mother, Tina Pitts; father, Luther B. James; brother, Ira B. James; and step-son, Jerry Richardson. Survivors include his wife, Donna Renay James; son, Larry (Donie) James; daughter, Julie James (Patrick) Whitfield; ten grandchildren, Karen Whitfield, Cameron Richardson, Rebecca Richarson, Alex Richardson, Matthew Whitfield, Michael Whitfield, Rene Whitfield, Candy Kent, Candy Prewitt and Johnny Carr; sixteen great-grandchildren; many other friends and relatives. The family will receive friends at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. Graveside services and interment will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the Wilson Annex of Whistler Cemetery.
