Mary Evelyn Alexander

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years Eugene L. Alexander, Jr., parents Albert Lorenzo Lewis, Sr. and Lucy Louvenia Dickens Lewis, brothers, Albert Lewis (Eris), Herman Lewis (Ethelyn), sisters, Gracie Ellison (Gene "Googie") Minnie M. Stevens (Leonard "Hookie"), infant daughter Wanda Ruth Alexander and son Roger A. Alexander, Sr.

Mrs. Alexander was a loving mother, wife, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed simple things, her dog Elfie, cooking, gardening, bird watching, and hunting treasures at the Goodwill store.

She was frugal and did not believe in wasting anything and self-sacrificed to leave a legacy for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved and respected and will be greatly missed.

Mary is survived by son Eugene L. Alexander, III and daughter Marilyn Chancellor (David), brother Henry Lewis (Louise), other family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home-Saraland, Alabama on Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Mauvilla Cemetery, Eight Mile, AL.

Serving as pallbearers will be Shawn Alexander, Ethan Sellers, Dylan Sellers, Bennie Alexander, Jamie Alexander and Eugene "Alex" Alexander IV.
