
Mrs. Mary Taylor Lewis, 82, of Mobile AL, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Springhill Manor Nursing Home. The family will receive family and friends on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at First Baptist North Mobile, in Saraland, AL, in celebration of her life. The funeral will be Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist North Mobile. Pastor Ed Litton will officiate. Burial will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
Mary Taylor Lewis was born in Gallion, Alabama to John Miller Taylor and Edna Watson Taylor on August 12, 1932. She graduated from Orrville High School in 1950. She was a member of First Baptist North Mobile for many years. Smith's Bakery had been her place of employment for 19 years until she retired. Reading, Southern home cooking, entertaining friends and family, Alabama Football and any sport related to Alabama and the Atlanta Braves were among Mrs. Lewis' greatest pleasures. She always had a kind word for anybody she met.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Butch" Lewis Sr.; Parents; sisters: Lucille “Lucy” Taylor, and Eva “Topsy" Taylor.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, William Theodore Atkins (Yvonne), of Woodbury, GA, Glenn Atkins (Anna), of Mobile, AL, and Clarence "Butch" Lewis Jr. (Sharial), of Semmes, AL; Her sister, Linda "Sissy" Taylor Arthur.
Grandchildren: Lorin Atkins Boren (Rackley), Jonathan Atkins, Taylor Lewis, Jordan Lewis, and Charley Lynn Hill. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
