Mary Jacqueline Stewart age 87 went to be with the Lord on 15th of April 2021 after fighting a long battle with cancer. She passed into eternity at home surrounded by her loved ones. Jackie was born December 30, 1933 to parents Eula and Jack Stagner who are both deceased. She married Andrew Stewart on December 27, 1950 and started a life of traveling with her husband in the Navy for 14 years and then settled in Satsuma, AL. to raise children and then to Creola, AL. for the last 47 years. She was a loving mother to children, Andrew Stewart, Jr., (Angie), Deborah Nelson (Don) and Tammy Williams (Greg).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew, Daughter, Patsy Neal Holmes and her baby Charles Michael.
Jackie was always doing things to make life better for her family and showing love by being available for doctor appointments, babysitting, friend and confident and helping raise grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to sew and many friends and family have her gowns, blankets and other things she made with love for them. Mother loved her church, Creola First Baptist Church and was active in helping others. She enjoyed going to the senior citizen center for lunch and activity with friends.
Jackie leaves 6 grandchildren, Stephanie Cozad (Greg), Gene Nelson (Kat), Stacie Skelton (Josh), James Holmes (Stefanie), Wendy Watts (Bernie) and Hailey Doremus (John), who she left many cherished memories of her love, care and wisdom. Jackie has 14 great grandchildren that call her nananoo who she loved and they loved her. She had many others that called her granny with special mention of Mark and Kim Howell her neighbors who were always looking out for her.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her last request was “Do not cry for me I will be in Heaven with Jesus. Everyone needs to love Jesus with all their heart and we all will be together again in Heaven.”
Visitation will be held from the Creola First Baptist Church, Creola, AL, on Monday, April 19, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service will be held in the church at 11:00 a.m. with interment following in Creola Cemetery, Creola, AL.
Pallbearers will be: Gene Nelson, Greg Cozad, James Holmes, Josh Skelton, Bernie Watts, Colton Cozad, Nolan Watts, Baylen Cozad, Destin Nelson and John Doremus.
