Myrl Elizabeth Reeves

Myrl Elizabeth Reeves left this earth on Monday, March 1,2021. She was 74 years old. Myrl was born near Meridian, Mississippi, the second child of Edwina, an immigrant from England and John, a World War II veteran. The family moved near Mobile, Alabama in short order where Myrl lived the rest of her life.

She graduated Vigor High School near the top of her class in 1964 and married her high school sweetheart, James "Jimmy" Robert Reeves, that same year. They had two sons, James Robert "Jimbo" Reeves and John Terryl Reeves.

She was a long time member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Chickasaw. Myrl worked as an Administrative Secretary and Office Manager for Schlumberger Offshore for over twenty years. Myrl was an energetic, outgoing, fun loving eternal optimist. She enjoyed boating, beaches, good movies, Facebook, card games with her friends, and most of all, her family. Her world revolved around her two boys and later, her grandchildren. Described by all who knew her as tough and feisty, she possessed a life spirit like no other and will be forever missed by her family and friends.

Myrl was preceded in death by her husband James Robert "Jimmy" Reeves, parents John and Edwina Clearman, brother, Mike Clearman, and sister, Elaine Courchesne. She is survived by her sister Vivian Overstreet, sons, Jimbo and Terry Reeves, grandchildren, Will Reeves, Hannah Reeves, Cole Reeves and SaraBeth Reeves, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland, Alabama on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
