

Nathan ("Buggy, Bug, J.R., Junior") began his life on a 40 acre plot that was his grandfathers were several family members had homes. His dad later acquired the land it was home to him from birth till his passing. That 40 acres became a part of his life, he hunted, Fished the creek, killed snakes, all the things boys like to do. It wasn't all play, he learned at an early age hard work. He helped take care of hogs, made sugarcane, and other things. His dad was a welder by trade and A junk man, they both enjoyed collecting and piling up all kinds of junk. Nathan went to work at Alabama Dry Dock and Ship Building right after turning 18, as a welder. Soon after he married The love of his life Pauline, which he almost never called by name, unless he was speaking of her. He had nicknames for most everyone, she was mamz to him. In 1971 he enlisted in the army he served in the third Battalion 33rd armor division which he was proud of. He admired General Patton so much that he took his three sons to the General Patton museum at Fort Knox. He had a love for history especially the history of our great country. In his teens he belonged to and archaeology club he made finds of arrowheads and Indian pottery. He loved his country no matter where he saw an American flag he would give a quick salute, he was a soldier at heart until the end. After serving his country he came home and went back to work at ADDSCO, later deciding that working shutdowns is what he enjoyed most. He became not only a welder but a boiler maker, millwright, an ironworker, he was a man of many talents. Fooling with junk cars also gave him a knowledge of motors. His dad and him started tinkering with the building racecars which led to a hobby he was very passionate about, they started with asphalt with him driving and obtaining his official NASCAR license. he had to give up driving after an industrial accident. Later own he was introduced to dirt track racing, he built one of the fastest dirt track cars around, "The Orange 00". With two great drivers at the wheel and this awesome machine he built they hardly ever came home without taking the checkered flag. He later gave it up and picked up recreational gillnet fishing, which he loved. Nathan was a man that believed in passing down knowledge teaching his son's all that he knew. He loved his children grandchildren and his prize possession a schnauzer named Rosebud that he called his little girly. He was loved by so many forever leaving a lasting impression on those he encountered. He will be greatly missed.
