Paul A. Stanley, age 85, longtime resident of Saraland, Alabama passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Connie Christopher and Mamie Bryant Stanley.
Mr. Stanley was a lifetime member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He was a 1958 graduate of Vigor High School, where he was a pitcher for the varsity baseball team and pitched their first perfect game. He graduated from the University of Alabama, "Roll Tide", with a B.S. in Commerce and Business Administration. He was also an outstanding pitcher for the baseball team at the University. He was employed with Ciba Geigy from 1967 until 1974 after which he started his first business, Parkway Machine & Metal Works which operated for 44 years prior to its sale . He and his wife Carolyn were owners of Catfish Junction Restaurant which served the local community for decades as well as Process Pump Repair. Additionally, he served on the City of Saraland Water Board, Planning Board and City Council.
Generous to a "fault", he was always willing to support his community and especially the youth of the area. Paul and his wife Carolyn endowed a scholarship at the University of Alabama for an Outstanding Business School student from the Mobile area. His love of the University and specifically Alabama football was legendary. He loved his hometown of Saraland never failing to serve when needed. He enjoyed hunting and golf, although in his later years, expressed that he wasn't interested in shooting a deer or turkey, but loved the solitude of the outdoors. He was devoted to his employees celebrating their joys and supporting them in their sorrows. Finally, it was his wife, Carolyn that was his truest love and he never failed to tell everyone of his beautiful bride.
Mr. Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carolyn Bargsley Stanley. His daughters Leigh Ann Stanley Mosley (Daniel) and Deana Stanley Newbill (Al) were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his grandsons Stanley Newbill and Jordan Autery and his siblings, Dr. J.C. Stanley and Rosemary Howell.
