Peggy Rachel Fenton Smith – a wonderful, hardworking Christian and loving mother/grandmother, an 85 year-old native of Cushing, TX and longtime resident of Saraland passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016. She retired from Dillard’s Department Store (formerly Hamill’s and D.H. Holmes) after 34 years of service.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Nona Fenton; husband, B.L. Smith; and son, Larry “Bubba” Smith. She is survived by two sons, Rodney Smith (Sheila) and Harry Smith (Melanie); grandchildren, Jason Smith (Stacey), Tiffany Tomko (Charles), Ryan Smith, Harrison Smith, Haylee Smith, Shawn Smith, Natasha Smith, and Angel Smith; 12 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Monday, January 25, 2016, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 9 a.m. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
