Rachell Darnell (Burnside) Esco

Darnell was born on October 6, 1950 in Mobile, AL to the late Bill and Lucille Burnside. In October of 1968, Darnell met Lonny. They married on January 24, 1969, and shared 49 beautiful years together, until Lonny’s passing on March 8, 2016. She set a tremendous example of faith, love and strength of character, and was a source of inspiration to all who knew her.

Darnell loved the Lord and always took the opportunity to tell any and everyone about the goodness of God. She was a seamstress and a craftswoman. She won many contests at the Greater Gulf State Fair with her crafts. She sold at many different craft stores around Mobile and Baldwin Counties.

Darnell is survived by her devoted daughter; Rachell (Kip) Goram, granddaughter; Kaittlyn Goram, and many other family and friends that will miss her deeply.

Darnell was preceded in death by her parents; Bill and Lucille Burnside. Darnell cherished spending time with her family. She was a woman of deep faith, humor and generosity who offered wisdom without judgment, and love without condition. Her memory will live in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held from 12 to the 1pm funeral on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. There will be a graveside service following the funeral at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Saraland.
