Raymond D. McRae – age 90, of Saraland, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at his home with his loving wife by his side. He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Virginia (Curry) McRae; three children, David McRae, Reci Lingerfelt, and Ronald McRae; a sister, Delores ; four grandchildren, Joni McRae, Allen Lingerfelt, Scott Lingerfelt, and Earl McRae; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Annie McRae, brothers and sisters, and grandson Trey McRae. Raymond was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, a Mason in the Saraland Pentalpha Lodge, a 33rd degree member of the Scottish Rite, and a Shriner. He retired International Paper Company after 45 years. Raymond loved watching the Atlanta Braves, camping, and spending time with his family. After retirement, he and Virginia enjoyed traveling and square dancing. He was a loving husband, caring father, grandfather, brother, loyal friend to many….and most importantly….a believer in Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until the service hour.
