Richard Carter Holmes – Born December 21, 1956 in Jackson, MS, died Saturday, October 13, 2012. He drove a truck most of his career and was an avid farmer. He grew up in Greystone Bible Church. He was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Lea Holmes. Survivors include his wife, Karen; five children, Shane, Scott, Jana, Heather and Jessica; mother, Sarah Lucas; father, Robert Holmes; six siblings, Bruce (Sharon) Holmes, Edward (Victoria) Holmes, John (Kathy) Holmes, Fulton (Brenda) Holmes, Sally (Leland) Porter and Dan (Karen) Lucas; ten grandchildren, Troy, Sheldon, Chloe, Tony, Brody, Carter, Braxton, Dylan, Marlea and Jarrett. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 16, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Creola Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Mark, John and James Holmes, Randall Pike, Tommy Key, Jr., Steve Rogers, Daniel Todd and Aaron Henderson. Honorary pallbearers are Fulton Homes, Jr. Carter and Braxton Holmes.
