Born on December 29, 1935, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama—just a few miles from Bryant-Denny Stadium—Robert was a devoted Alabama Crimson Tide fan. His passion for sports of all kinds was infectious, and he rarely missed a game, always cheering with pride and enthusiasm.
Robert dedicated 34 years of service to the community as a firefighter, retiring as Captain of the Prichard Fire Department. In addition to his work with the fire department, Robert was also a skilled welder. His strong work ethic and determination were evident in everything he did, both in service and in trade.
A man of deep faith, Robert was a longtime member of Shadowlawn Baptist Church, where he found strength, fellowship, and purpose.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Patrick Mabry and Sally Mae Mabry; his beloved daughter, Lisa Mabry; his grandson, Jordan Lundholm; and his siblings, Willie Caldwell, Doris Simons, Clara Hamilton, James Patrick Mabry, and Merle Gant.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Pitzulo Mabry; his children, Robert Mabry Jr., Susan (Joey) Chapman, and Sonya Langley; and his stepchildren, Paul (Selina) Pitzulo, Jonell (Robbie) Johnson, and Joey (Pam) Pitzulo. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Jessica Mabry, Jonathan (Leslie) Hill, and Jenny Lundholm, along with many great-grandchildren.
Robert will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his community, and his unwavering faith. His sense of humor, generous heart, and love for life will be missed more than words can express.
