Robert “Bobby” Lee Raines, 73, longtime resident of Saraland, Alabama, born November 26, 1947, left the confines of this world, and was swept away into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on December 18, 2020. He passed away at a local hospital after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Bobby retired from Brown and Root after more than 25 years of service. He was a United States Navy veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He was an avid racing and Alabama football fan. He loved spending time with his family, especially his little granddaughters. His favorite place on earth was his parents’ home in Evergreen, where he loved to hunt with his son, his brothers, and his cousins. Before his illness prevented him from doing so, he loved to read his Bible, and was able to read it from start to finish three times.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Lee and Merle Raines, and his older brother, Billy Raines. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kathy Taylor Raines; a devoted son, Brandon Lee (Lori) Raines; a beloved daughter, Robin Raines; granddaughters, Harper and LeeAnna Raines, and Lila Hendrick; siblings, Dianne Hayes, Helen (Danny) Rutledge, Russell (Dona) Raines, and Mark (Carolina) Raines; and dearest devoted friend, Tommy Gavin, and many precious in laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2020, in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Saraland, Alabama.
