Ruby Gray Overstreet Murphy

Mrs. Ruby Gray Overstreet Murphy, age 81, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Jones and Laura Jackson James, husband, Glenn Murphy, son, Richard Murphy and grandson, Shaun Goff. Mrs. Murphy was a native of Jackson, AL and had resided in Saraland for over forty years. She retired after many years in the sewing industry. Her family will remember her as a loving, gracious and attentive mother, grandmother and friend. She will greatly missed. Mrs. Murphy is survived by children, Johnny Murphy (Mary), Mike Murphy (Diane), Sherri Goff and Glenn Murphy, Jr. (Dixie). She is also survived by her longtime companion, Clifford Murphy, brothers, Arnell Overstreet (Janice), L. C. James (Lula), John James (Joyce), thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren , one (soon to arrive) great-great grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland, AL on Monday, August 31, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Celeste Rd., Saraland, AL..
