Sarah Elaine Mason

Sarah Elaine Headley Mason, age 89, longtime resident of Satsuma, Alabama, passed away on January 11, 2025. She is preceded in death by her husband George Morgan Mason, her parents George Headley and Etta Hunter Headley Scott, siblings John Dee (Ruby) Headley, Delene (Buddy) Dumas, Hollis (Martha) Headley, Carolyn (Hayward) Andrews and great granddaughter, Mekala Bonner Matthews.

Sarah is survived by her children Rhonda E. Mason, George “Buster” (Sherene) Mason, Gerald “Gerry” (Ann) Mason and Rachel E. “Beth” Mason. She is also survived by her sister Hazel (Dayton) Wimpee, her sisters- in-law, Peggy Mason, Liz Purcell, and Tonie Mason, grandchildren Ryan (Bridgette) Mason, Bryan (Alicia) Mason, Brent (Hannah) Mason, great grandchildren Alex Mason, Maverick Mason, Miller Mason, Maggie Mason, and Harper Williams, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She will be remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother or as “Mawmaw”.

Mrs. Mason was a member of First Baptist Church of Satsuma, Eastern Star Satsuma Chapter and the Satsuma Library Club.

The family would like to express their appreciation to their caregiver, Deborah Jones and the staff of Springhill Hospice.

Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home-Saraland on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
