
Terry Joe Elmore – a native of Butler, AL and resident of Eight Mile, AL died Monday, September 8, 2014 in a local hospital. Mr. Elmore was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired from Terminal Railroad and served as Past Commander of the American Legion Post #153.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Helen Elmore; and son, Edmond “Eddie” Reed. He is survived by his wife, Elaine “Penny” Elmore; four children, Terry Joe Elmore II (Nita), Cheryl Payton (Montrez), Kevin Reed and Brandi Williams; daughter-in-law, Misty Reed; one brother, Rory Elmore (Judy); one sister, Carol Elmore; fifteen grandchildren, Michael Paul, LeeAnn, Carlie, Christina, Cody, Taylar, Sam, Brandon, Morgan, Summer, Hunter, Wyman, Eddie, Joby and Brett; three great-grandchildren, Kimber, Joe Clyde and Michael Paul II; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. Graveside services with full Military Honors will be rendered on Friday at 11:00 a.m. from the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spanish Fort, AL. Active pallbeares are Todd Causey, Steve Stacey, John Pierre, Blane Owen, Bennie McCants and James Fuqua. Honorary pallbearers are Mitch Hutto and John Pownall.
