Cecil E. Evers Jr.

February 27, 1932 – January 17, 2014

Cecil E. Evers Jr, 81, of Sarasota, FL, and formerly of Ona, FL, went to be with the Lord on January 17, 2014. Private Family Graveside with Military Honors will be at Sarasota National Cemetery on Clark Rd on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 10:30am. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 11:30am at Friendship Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Barbara; sons, Cecil “Buddy” Evers (Beth) of Bonifay, FL, Joey Walter (Angel) of Clermont, FL; daughters, Pamela Gavette (Jeff) and Melissa Eastman of Sarasota; brother, Clayton (Fay) of Wauchula, FL; sisters, Arlene Platt (Pershing) of Zolfo Springs, Alice “Susie” Norris (BJ) of Wauchula; sister-in-love, Jane Evers of Sarasota; and grandchildren, Cecil “Lee” and Benjamin Evers, Zoe and Maya Gavette, Taylor Swartz, Danny Eastman, and Joey, Micah, and Aaron Walter.

Cecil was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He was a US Air Force Veteran and was retired from the US Postal Service as a clerk.

Cecil was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and will be truly missed.
