

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Dorothy Pavlos.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cynthia; sons, Christopher and Alexander; brothers, John and Stephan and their wives Sharon and Mary Anna.
Born in Baltimore, MD. Charles had a fulfilling 20 year stint in the Navy Civil
Engineer Corp where he retired as a Commander. While on deployment to Midway Island, he met the love of his life Cynthia and they married in 1982. After retiring from the Navy, Charles went on to serve as the Director of public works for the cities of, Cape Coral, FL, Orange Park, FL and Punta Gorda, FL.
Charles was a hero to his sons, Christopher and Alexander and loved their wives, Raquel and Jolie. However, the lights of his life were his two grandsons, Tanner and Dallas – “PAPOOOU!”
Charles was a “people person” and developed new friendships everywhere he lived and worked and was known to have a great sense of humor, consistently optimistic and cheerful.
The light he brought into the world will forever be missed.

A service for Charles will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, prior to the service. A committal service for Charles will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
