

Cindy was a Licensed Cosmetologist and Co-founder of FAADA, where she worked with legislators in helping to pass laws addressing the abuse of prescription opioid drugs. Cindy was awarded the Unsung Hero Award in 2010 from the Community Foundation; Public Advocacy Award in 2011 from Reach Out Recovery; and the Light of Hope Award in 2012 from the DEA Educational Foundation.
Cindy was selfless, loved all people, and lived her life to the fullest. To her three grandchildren, she was lovingly known as "Memaw."
She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Wray Bales, Jr.; loving daughter, Tara Allison Miller (and Kyle); sisters, Norma Patricia Dalessandro, Maida Cruse, and Alice Hine; and, by her cherished grandchildren Breckon Garrett Miller, McKinleigh Faith Miller, and Peyton Kyle Miller. Cindy is preceded in death by her son, Garrett Michael Harney.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Bayside Community Church, 8200 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, FL 34241.
