

Curtis was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Lake and Crystal Brown on July 27, 1954. Curtis graduated from Riverview High School in 1972 and graduated from University of South Florida in 1976 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. Curtis married his wife, Susan Brown, on August 20, 1977, at Bee Ridge Baptist Church. Together they had two children (Heather and Daniella). Curtis was a Systems Analyst Computer Programmer at The Zenth when he retired. He was very involved in volunteering for his daughters’ activities: 4-H, RHS Kiltie Band, and Girl Scouts. He was also a 5th degree black belt sensi in Judo and taught at the Boys and Girls Club Judo Academy.
Curtis played football in school and loved watching the game. Curtis also loved to go camping with his family, reading, grilling at family cookouts, gaming on computers, listening to music, spending time with family, and teaching the art of Judo to others.
Curtis is survived by his wife Susan; 2 children Heather Hall and Daniella Budz; 2 granddaughters, McKenna and Alina; and sister Cynthia Miller.
A funeral service will be held at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, located at 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232, on November 2, 2025, starting at 1:00 pm.
Following the funeral service, a graveside service will take place at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Avenue, Sarasota, FL 34232, on the same day at 2:00 pm.
