Delores Jean Coblentz

Delores Jean Coblentz, age 63, of Sarasota, Florida passed away on Thursday February 1, 2024. Delores was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Delores is preceded in death by her father Ben Wagler and her sister Loretta Martin both from Sarasota County.

She is survived by her mother Leah Wagler of Sarasota, Florida, her husband Lynn Coblentz, her daughters, Andrea and husband Brent Davies, and their daughter Katie, of Madison, Wisconsin, Heather and husband Chris Catarzi of Sarasota, Florida, Christie and husband Joey, and their daughter Paige of Sarasota, Florida, a brother and his wife, Dallas and Mary Wagler of Sarasota, Florida.

Delores was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and the family moved to Sarasota in 1973, where Delores graduated from Riverview High School. Delores and Lynn married January 7, 1984, at Ashton Mennonite Church. Delores was a registered LPN and worked for pediatricians Dr. Gordon and Dr. Kelly. She also helped her husband run the family business, Coblentz Auto Repair.

Delores looked forward to summer trips to Belleville, Pennsylvania with family and friends. Many great memories came from these trips. Delores loved being out by the water, whether on the boat with her husband, at the beach with friends or walking around Marina Jack. She never gave up an opportunity for an adventure. She traveled to Greece with Heather and saw Wicked on Broadway with Christie.

The greatest title she received in her lifetime was Mama D. To know Mama D, you were immediately a part of her family. It did not matter if you were hers biologically or not, she loved you with all of her heart. However, her pride and joy came from her granddaughters, Katie and Paige. She spent every moment she could cultivating a close relationship with them and of course, spoiling them. She was delighted to know that a third granddaughter would be making her appearance this coming June.

Visitation for Delores will be held Friday, February 9th at 10:00 AM followed by funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00PM at Abundant Life church, 6461 Proctor Road, Sarasota, FL 34241, followed by funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00PM.
