

Diana E. Soscia, age 79 of Bradenton, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 in the loving arms of her family. She was born September 8, 1937 in New York, NY to William and Hedwig Gerhards. Diana graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1955 and went on to graduate with her Associate’s from Green Mountain College in Vermont in 1957. Throughout her life, she was a homemaker, a secretary and an office manager. Diana was also an active member of the Catholic Church. She always put her family first and loved the time she shared with them. Diana studied piano at Julliard and became an accomplished pianist. She was also an avid sports enthusiast and loved to walk for exercise and play Jumble. Diana is survived by her husband, Dr. Louis Soscia, MD; her children, Lisa (Rick) Hermanns, Dr. William (Karen) Soscia, MD, Dr. Juliet (David) Collins, MD; 7 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild. Visitation for Diana will be on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 5pm to 8pm at Palms-Robarts Funeral Home; 170 Honore Ave. in Sarasota, FL. A Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 1pm at St. Jude Catholic Church; 3930 17th St. in Sarasota, FL. The Soscia family would like to extend a special thank you the Windsor Reflections Memory Care of Lakewood Ranch and Tidewell Hospice, where memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers.
