He was born on July 1, 1952, in the County of Kent, United Kingdom, to Alan and Olive Humphreys. Ed earned a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech. He married Deborah “Rusty” Humphreys on August 13, 1977.
Ed was known for his love of music, his strong support of the military, and the time he cherished relaxing on his lanai.
He is survived by his wife, Rusty; daughters Elizabeth (Bradley) Davis, Madalyn (Patrick) Humphreys-Jefferey, and Katherine Humphreys; grandson Evan Carey; brother Robert Humphreys; and sister Carol Campus.
