Think of you often my sweet boy. You touched so many people and I was so honored to be your step mom. 

My heart ❤  is broken ,  In the summer of 2001 I met you while working in Yellowstone National Park. Your infectious smile, deep voice, and outgoing personality caught my eye immediately.  A gentle Giant as I recall you were 7'2" and everyone admired you. Even though it was a short summer of love and friendship I always wondered what had become of you and where life led my friend.  I cried when I came  across your obituary and wish I had contacted you sooner to see how you were and your path through life.  I will think of you always and remember that one summer that will always be in my heart.

Erik, a best friend, is truly missed. I still cant believe your gone. I think about you every day. I love you man!

I am Deeply saddened to hear about my great friend Eric(or as my family and many friends called him) Big E.  I met him many years ago and from the moment we talked we became instant friends. He always had a smile on his face and quick witted. My kids absolutely adored him. He would come to my house always with something for my kids which he adored also. We’d play video games for hours after my kids went to bed and I’d visit him also all the time especially when we became neighbors for 5 years. Great times with a great friend.   I’m absolutely devastated about his passing   I know he is a Better place and he no longer is in pain.  Our thoughts and Prayers are With his family.  Love you buddy

I have known Erik several years as his dentist.  Every visit he made he would light up the office with his smile and his good nature.  Not an easy thing to do at the dental office.  The entire staff would bust with excitement when ever he came by, and make sure to spend time with him.  He was a joy and a blessing to know.  I can't believe he's no longer with us.  My heart and prayers go out to his other friends and family who I know must be crushed by this loss.  A big man with a giant heart.

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember Erik and the amazing person he was. He was a laugh and a half. I hope that he is in a better place but I can only imagine the pain your feeling as I know you were very close to him . Remember the good times. May he rest in peace. 
I hope the memories of him bring  you joy in this time of sorrow. I wish you nothing but love and comfort in this terrible time.

I did not know Erik well:  we only conversed with each other briefly about two weeks ago; but I am truly sorry about his passing.  He was a very pleasant person, and it sad that he and I will not be able to converse again.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his mother, Sandy, and her family.  

Was heartbroken to hear of Erik's passing.  He was part of our family for many years and just a few days before his death he stopped by our house in his truck and chatted with my daughter Carol and my grandsons.  Praying for his mom and family.  May the peace of our Lord Jesus give them comfort and peace during this very sad time.

Erik was very much loved by many. Erik was my step son and was the sweetest soul. When I had my son, Grayson Van Name, Erik was the first to hold him after he was born. He looked at his new little brother with such loving eyes and with awe. He was so proud of his little brother as well as his other siblings. The little kids in our neighborhood just loved him and he loved being their friend. I'm so grateful Grayson was able to see him recently, he loves Erik so much. 
I feel so blessed to have been a small part of Erik's life. I have so many sweet memories of him and he will be sorely missed. 
I wish peace and strength to his mom and family and they are in our prayers.
I love you Erik and was so honored to be a part of your life and I know you're in Gods comfort now. See you there.

I am so saddened to learn of Erik's passing.   I will miss seeing him drive thru in his truck always with a smile and friendly wave.  Truly a warm and gentle soul.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.  God Bless you Erik.

We are shocked and so very sorry to hear about Erik.   He was truly a good and brave soul.  Since last year at this time he had made great strides.  He left this world as a fighter!  

Erik was one of my son's good friends in high school in Sarasota. They played many hours of basketball together and watched many basketball games. Erik came with us the year they graduated high school for a trip to Disney World. The boys had a blast! Super nice young man! My daughter adored him like a brother. Always polite and helpful! He will be missed!

I am so sorry to hear this news.  My heart aches for his family.  I knew them many years ago when we were neighbors in Clinton, Ct.  Erik was a delightful young boy and I was amazed , as was so many others, by his stature. Thinking of his family as they cope with this loss in their lives. RIP Erik.

I was very saddened to hear about Erik’s passing. He was one of my first friends.  We grew up on Country Village Ln. in Clinton, CT. I remember always riding our bikes around the neighborhood, playing in the woods and the creek around his house. I remember I always loved that house, big yellow colonial set back, up on a hill. I recall his family had a dog pen on the side, and if I’m correct, I think they had two Great Danes.   I don’t remember too much when Erik and his family moved away.   I never had the chance to reconnect with Erik, but years later in high school I was attending the Xavier vs Branford basketball game, and I remember seeing Erik. I was so impressed (and surprised) by his stature. That was the last time I saw him.   We never had the chance to reconnect, but when I ever thought about Erik and our short time together, I always remembered the good times we had as young children. Erik is (was) a gentle soul. I’ll always be grateful for having the opportunity  to have him as a friend.  

Rest In Peace.  

So sorry to hear of Erik’s passing.  I remember him from a young boy.  He came to my home here in Texas once and my son, who was a young boy at the time, couldn’t get over how tall he was.  I remember him as a sweet soul.  Praying the family will feel Gods grace and healing love.
