Bob was the third born child of Carlton Harold Taylor (1902 - 1986) and Florence Rozella 'Rowe' Taylor (1905 - 1980) in St. Louis, Gratiot County, Michigan on Jan 17th of 1927. He passed away as the result of an aggressive cancer, diagnosed earlier this year, at the age of 85 on May 28, 2012.
He served in the Air Corps towards the end of World War II in Alaska as an airplane mechanic. Following his service in the Air Corps he joined his father and brothers at Taylor's Sales and Service Packard automobile dealership in St. Louis, Michigan and later in Saginaw, Michigan. Bob was employed by West Coast Motors in Sarasota, a previous Packard dealership where he worked in the service department overhauling up to two automatic transmissions a day or installing after market air conditioning units in the fleet of 1950's cars without that relatively new feature. Upon the death of the owner of West Coast Motors and it being closed, Bob went to work for Cooke Cadillac - Oldsmobile as a mechanic in Feb. 1961 and eventually retired from Coast Cadillac (successor to Cooke) in Feb of 1988, however, he continued to help with driving new and used car trades between dealerships for Coast Cadillac for another 19 years.
Bob was preceded in death by his brother Carl Francis 'Bud' Taylor (1924 - 2005) and his daughter Nancy Coffin (1956 - 1988). He is survived by his wife Louise, sister Evelynn Louise 'Sis' Holland and his brother William 'Bill' Taylor, as well as, his son Thomas H. Taylor, grandson Andrew Robert Taylor, granddaughters Kristina 'Kris' Louise Taylor 'Byrnes' and Laura Ann Taylor, daughter Janet Kay Warfield, grandsons Anthony Brian Warfield, Robert Douglas Warfield, Nicholas Harlan Coffin and Brian Clare Coffin.
