Helen LaVerne Selby

Funeral services for LaVerne will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park. Burial will follow at Palms Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday February 1, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

LaVerne grew up in Vanleer, Tennessee and moved to Wheeler, Indiana with her family while in high school. She graduated from Wheeler high school in 1957 where she met her high school sweetheart Thomas Selby. On June 22, 1957 she married Thomas. They lived, worked and raised their two boys Thomas Jr. and Timothy in Valparaiso, Indiana until they retired in 1995 and moved to Sarasota.

LaVerne worked at McGill Corporation in Valparaiso for 30+ years where she retired. Laverne greatly enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family from Indiana and Florida.

LaVerne is survived by her two sons, Thomas Selby (Laurie) and Timothy Selby (Chrissy); Grandchildren, Chris Selby (Sara), Adam Selby (Mallory), Ariel Selby, Erika Selby and Leah Selby; Great-grandchildren, Kayla Hancock, Hailey Hancock, Avalon Selby, Zoey Selby and Skylar Gualandi; and her four sisters.

She was loved and admired by all her family and the many friends she made over the years, she will be greatly missed.
