August 8, 1945-June 22, 2021
Howard, known as "Bud" to his immediate family and "Bear" to his partner Holly, died suddenly on June 22 in Longboat Key, Florida.
Born and raised in Lakewood, Colorado, Howard was preceded in death by his mother and father, Elizabeth R. and Howard H. Hampton, as well as his sister Lesley Hampton Noftsker and her son Andrew Simon.
Howard is survived by long-time partner Holly Rebson Parker of Denver, sister Meredith Hampton Miller (David R.), nephews Lindsey, Martin, and Mason Miller and his much-loved great nephews Miles, Lane, and Noah Miller, all of the metro Denver area. In addition, he leaves behind his nephew Peter Simon, niece Gail Karagianis and great nephew Andreas Simon, all of Boston, MA.
Howard was a graduate of Lakewood High School (1963), University of Colorado Business School, and earned a Masters in Business at Tulane University. He followed his father’s passion for fly-fishing and hunting. He liked nothing better than being on the water, either fishing the rivers in the Colorado Rockies or cruising the Gulf off the Florida coast.
His love of sports in his early years caught up with his health in the later ones. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, wicked wit, love of good food, and the pleasures of good cooking! He was passionate about animals and loved fostering rescued dogs. He will be missed as he left us far too soon.
Howard requested cremation and no service related to his death.
