Iris Nicholson, 82, of Sarasota, Florida passed away after a very brief illness on October 7, 2025. She was born in Kingston, Jamaica on November 28, 1942, and married Ransford Nicholson on January 22, 1966.
Iris happily fulfilled her role as a pastor’s wife for many years in Jamaica, and she also worked diligently as a caregiver in the United States. She was a member of Bayshore Mennonite Church and had a passion for hospitality and a reputation for being generous.
She is survived by Ransford Nicholson, her husband of 59 years, her children, Meredith Nicholson (Donna), and Myrna Stoltzfus (Todd), grandchildren Brandon, Elliot (Ella), Ethan (Faith), Emerald, Esther, Edison, and Kali, and great granddaughter, Ramona.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on November 1st at 10:00 AM at Sarasota Community Church (formally Bahia Vista Mennonite) 4041 Bahia Vista St. Sarasota, FL 34232. Repast immediately following service. Cheerful attire is encouraged.
