

He is survived by his parents, Leon Walter and Patrice Rene Derocher; his siblings, Matthew Derocher (Paula), Angela Kiefer (Frank), Amanda Elghaity (Anas), Daniel Derocher (Heidi), Stephen Derocher, Jonathan Derocher (Jenni), and Abigail Johnston (Byron). Joe was predeceased by his sister, Rebecca Mary in 1981. He leaves 15 nieces and nephews that adored him! And four very young great nephews.
He was homeschooled from kindergarten through 12th grade at Truth Academy. He enjoyed numerous sports as a participant and fan. He especially loved the Dallas Cowboys, the Tampa Bay Lightning, and the Atlanta Braves. Joe enjoyed music, gardening, and playing video games with his brothers. Joe loved nature, the beach, animals and had a very tender heart for a special woodpecker.
Joe gained construction skills while employed in the family business. He later became a Head Sushi Chef during 13 years of employment with JPAN where he used his creative skills to make amazing sushi preparations for restaurant patrons.
Joe would often say that his family was everything, which included his work associates and friends near and far.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, August 4th from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Robert Toale & Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park 170 Honore Avenue, Sarasota, FL 34232 with a Memorial Service to follow.
